On July 25, 1967, Matt LeBlanc was born to Paul LeBlanc and Patricia LeBlanc in  Newton, Massachusetts.

His father, who is of French and Canadian descent, worked as a mechanic while his mother, who is of Italian descent, worked as an office assistant. 

LeBlanc spent his early life in Newport and he schooled at Newton North High School.

After finishing his secondary education, LeBlanc relocated to New York to pursue a career in modeling.

His modeling ambition was dealt a massive blow after he was told that he was too short. 

While he was in New York, he connected with an actress who linked him to her manager.
